Liverpool 2 – 2 Sevilla | UEFA Champions League – Match Highlights
- 5′ 0 – 1 Wissam Ben Yedder strikes early to open the scoring to Sevilla. Down the left, they cross. Lovren’s had a shocker! Just get it clear, man. Anywhere! He misses his clearance, and it’s a tap in. That is not to say that Dejan Lovren is alone in his shame here. Can and Gomez both had the chance to clear or get a foot in.
- 21′ 1 – 1 Roberto Firmino scores a superb team goal from Henderson, Moreno, one two. A neat cross, low, from Moreno, and there’s Firmino to tap it in. Well played. Excellent stuff, that. Firmino had it on a plate.
37′ 2 – 1 Mohamed Salah puts Liverpool ahead with a left footed shot from outside the box to the top right corner after Gomez played it in to Salah, it was a good position but not a very good ball. Salah loses the ball in the area, chases after it, and wins it off N’Zonzi. Some would call that a foul on the Sevilla man. Salah has a shot, it takes a huge deflection off poor Kjaer, gives the goalie no chance. Some called it a foul on the Sevilla man: about eight Sevilla players, who surround the ref and protest bitterly. Referee could have booked several but in the end singles out Baneja.
72′ 2 – 2 Joaquin Correa levels and Liverpool can’t see it out! That Roberto Firmino penalty miss is put into stark focus as again poor defending lets Sevilla back into the game. Joaquin Correagets lucky as his miscontrol ends up running into his path, but there’s no Liverpool defender near him as he steers into the corner from 15 yards out. You could have driven a bus through the middle.
90+4′ 2 – 2 [Red Card] Joe Gomez was sent off in an eventful night gets another bullet-point as right-backJoe Gomezis shown a second yellow card for a foul on the sidelines.
