Manchester City 1-1 Middlesbrough as Sergio Aguero scores just before break to put City in lead but was later equalized by de Roon at an injury time.
Manchester City housed Middlesbrough in the Premier League game on Saturday in a hope to go three points clear at top of the table. However they found it hard to breakdown Middlesbrough who were resiliant at the back and made life difficult for city. But the breakthrough finally arrived just before the break when Sergio Aguero scored in 43rd minute to put City 1-0 up. In the second half, de Roon scored at a critical injury time to equalize the match as Middlesbrough draw against Manchester City.
Aguero’s finish was his 14th goal from 15 games in all competitions this season. Marten de Roon’s injury-time leveller snatched a draw for Middlesbrough as Manchester City were denied victory at Etihad Stadium.
Sergio Aguero broke the deadlock, stabbing in Kevin de Bruyne’s cross for his 150th City goal with their 18th shot of the afternoon.
Boro were hugely improved after the break and Alvaro Negredo brought a fine save from Claudio Bravo with an audacious lob from the halfway line. Pep Guardiola’s side looked to have withstood the isolated spells of Boro pressure but De Roon’s header from George Friend’s 91st-minute cross denied them.
