Goodluck Jonathan prayed for the soul of Late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua on the sixth anniversary of his death, Jonathan served as vice president during the administration of Late Yar’Adua.
Late Yar’ Adua was the president of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010 and he died on May 5 shortly after he returned to Nigeria following the treatment of pericarditis in Saudi Arabia.
Jonathan was the vice president during the administration of Late Yar’Adua and was made acting president during his boss’ prolonged exit out of the country for medical treatment and later sworn in as president following his demise.
Jonathan wrote on his facebook page to express regret at Late Yar’Adua’s exit who he described as a servant leader. He also prayed for his soul to rest in paradise.
Jonathan wrote: “Six years ago I lost a dear friend and partner in democracy, peace and progress. Late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua was a servant leader and a stickler for the rule of law. He may be gone but he is never to be forgotten. I pray for his soul and for him to rest in al Jannah firdaus.”
