Barcelona were under massive pressure after both Madrid clubs recorded wins in their respective games reducing points gap to just 1 and Barcelona needed a win against Valencia on Sunday to turn around the mood around the club. But having dominated first half they found themselves 2-0 down leaving them a mountain to club in second half. Rakitic own goal and Santi Mina’s superb finish put Valencia in commanding position going into the break.
Neymar, Messi and Suarez looked all pumped up at the start of the match against Valencia but they failed to take their chances and getting frustrated as the first half wore own. Barcelona were pegged back when Siqueira shot deflected off Rakitic into the back of the net getting Valencia in lead.
Messi than missed couple of chances while Suarez was getting frusted and shown a yellow card for dissent. Valencia found another counter attacking move where Parejo released Santi Mina inside the box who curled a shot past Bravo to make it 2-0 for Valencia just before the break.
Lionel Messi scored after the break when Jordi Alba’s low cross found Messi inside the box and he poked home from close range to get Barcelona back in the match.
