An afternoon fire has razed a popular NNPC Filing station along Kongolam road in Daura town of Katsina state.
Four vehicles including two buses were reportedly burnt down in the ensuing fire even as the station’s office situated at the Eastern Flank was completely razed down.
The fire incidence occurred around 1:30 pm while most Muslim faithful were either at the Mosque or on their way to Mosques for Jumaat prayers.
An eyewitness said that the fire incidence started from an unmarked vehicle loaded with a can of fuel allegedly belonging to black marketers.
“When the vehicle went up in flames for reasons that I don’t know, suddenly the fire extended to three other vehicles close by and the whole place was thrown into confusion” an eyewitness, Alhaji Nata’Allah said.
The fire was put off by the combined efforts of security agents and men of the state fire service.
Interestingly, no life was lost to the inferno.
