President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Bashir Ahmad as his new Personal Assistant on New Media today.
Mr. Bashir will oversee President Buhari’s communications and engagement on social media and new media platforms.
Mr. Bashir, who is twenty-four years old, is from Kano State and was the Online Editor for the Hausa version of Leadership Newspaper. Prior to working with Leadership Newspaper he was an online editor and reporter with Rariya Hausa Newspaper and was the Personal Assistant on New Media to Sam Nda-Isiah, the publisher of Leadership Newspaper.
Mr. Bashir also worked with the Buhari Support Organization (BSO).

24 years old Ahmad who hails from Kano State was appointed on Thursday, Februrary 11, 2016.
Ahmad graduated from Bayero University Kano with Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in 2013 and was a member of the Buhari Support Organization.
Until his appointment, he was the Online Editor for Leadership Newspaper.
Mr. Bashir also worked as the personal assistant on new media to Sam Nda-Isaiah, the publisher of Leadership, who contested along Mr. Buhari for the All Progressives Congress, APC’s presidential ticket for the 2015 election.
He later served at the Buhari Support Organization (BSO) prior to the presidential elections.
Ahmad will oversee Mr. Buhari’s communication on social media and related platforms.
