Just Because he is expected to match the outgoing Bayern Munchen coach Pep Guardiola tactics-for-tactics, attitude-for-attitude and probably even sneer-for-sneer and overcome when he (Guardiola) resumes as Manchester City manager in the summer, former Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho will be paid a few more pounds more than the Spanish-born tactician when he (Mourinho) takes over at neighbouring club Manchester United.

According to details of Mourinho’s contracts revealed on Wednesday, the ‘Special One’ will earn a total of £15.5m-a-year at Manchester United when the papers are signed in probably a matter of days or even hours as some sources say.

Daily Star UK quotes Spanish publication,El Confidencialas saying that Mourinho will sign a three-year contract to take charge of Manchester United and that his agent, Jorge Mendes’ London office is putting the final touches to a deal which will see the Portuguese boss replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

The Spanish report says that lawyers from both parties are working on a ‘maze of clauses’ which will be resolved in the coming days. With the deal, the former Real Madrid manager will be paid £15.5m-a-year until 2019.

Daily Star UK notes that shouldEl Confidencial‘s report be true, then Mourinho would become the highest paid manager in world football, earning more than Guardiola, whose salary, the tabloid confirms is close to £15m-a-year at City.

With the two tactician’s three-year contracts, Mourinho will earn £1.5m pounds more than Guardiola at £46.5m while the latter earns £45m.
