The Senate today rejected the N130 budgeted for the feeding of each prison inmate across the country.
This new development followed a visit by Minister of Interior, Retired General Abdulrahaman Dambazzau to the Senate’s Committee on Interior for budget defence.
Chairman of the Committee, Senator Bayero Usman Nafada said the budgetary allocations for the feeding of the inmates was too small.
“N200 was budgeted for the feeding of each of the inmates in our prisons. And if you remove taxes and contractors profit, only N130 will remain,“ he said.
