Liverpool have been hit by the news that striker Daniel Sturridge would not be fit enough to feature when they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.
The Reds striker has been out of action since April after suffering an injury to his hips.
Sturridge underwent surgery in the USA and Liverpool had hoped he would be ready to return to action after the international break.
However, theDaily Mirrorclaim, that while he has stepped up his rehabilitation and has been involved in some individual work, the 26-year-old is still not ready to join his teammates in full contact training.
His absence will be a massive blow to Liverpool who would have to do also without the service of in-form midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho was sent off in last weekend’s 3-0 home defeat to West Ham and would there fore miss the trip to the treatre of dreams.
